In the name of Allah , The beneficent and Mercyfull

First of all let us praise to Allah SWT because of his blessing we are able to attend this English speech contest, secondly shalawat and salam to the prophet Muhammad SAW who has guided us from the darkness into the brightness.

Ladies and gentlemen

Let me introduce my self, my name Laily Qidriana from Vocational High School Migas Cepu. I’m standing here, I would like to deliver my speech and the title is “Harsh punishment should be applied to students who cheat during test or an examination”.

We see, cheating has been popular in the Indonesian education. Students do cheat during exams by looking at the notes, friend’s answer, working together with a friend, or using the search engine that we call "mbah google"

According to me, cheating activities have a negative impact on the character building. I hope you have same opinion. If cheating is done continuously, there are no new generation of people who clean and characterless, it’s impossible right ? because of, the impact of cheating is the inhibition of creativity, make lazy, hopeless, and no responsibility. And one of the impact is will grow the corruptors. whether you still remember this song? “Andai ku Gayus Tambunan, yang bisa pergi ke Bali. Semua keinginannya pasti bisa terpenuhi. Lucunya di negri ini hukuman bisa dibeli. Kita orang yang lemah pasrah akan keadaan”

That is one example of the wrong character building. Back to the problem of cheating, institution of education was rather support the students to do cheating. As examples of current national examination, the invigilator allow examinees to cheat. there are also some teacher asked the clever student to provide answers to other students who are less proficient. So the students of their school order to pass 100% and not embarrassing the school. It is far away from the purpose and function of true education. True education is as a cultural transformation, the process of personal formation, the process of preparation of citizens, and for the preparation of labor.

How to know the ability of the students? Yes, from test or examination. Accordance with the function and purpose of education, examination should not only be measured from value but also from student’s mental and skill. When examinees cheat, of course, examinees is not ready financially and mentally. But unfortunately, in Indonesia the activities of cheating is considered reasonable and the punishment is nothing. And when we see to developed country such as Japan and French. According to them, the activity of cheating is criminal and very embarrassing.

The punishment will be given to students who have been known cheating harshly. Not only getting punishment administratively, but also punishment socially. For example in Japan, students which caught cheat will be drop out from his school or his university. And the news will be scattered quickly. While in university Ecole des Mines de Saint Etienne (EMSE) in French, when the test of welding, there was a students who did cheating. So he got punishment. The punishments are 5 years not allow to follow exams and the career in military will be closed 100%. Amazing right?

Ladies and gentlemen

The harsh punishment like that can produce the people who have good character. And make their country to be development country and the activities of corruption were minimum. We want to like that, don’t we? So, what must we do? One of the solve is a harsh punishment should be applied to students who cheat during a test or an examination. Students who cheat should be given strict punishment, considered a failure, and was given additional penalties such as suspension or other. Punishment should be carried out immediately and no tolerance. The other side we also must gave the reward to those who are honest.

I think it’s enough for me. I’m sorry if I done many mistakes when I delivered my speech. Before my speech end, I would like to give you a sentence “To change the world, start from our selves. The Sophistication of Technology Result in the Increase of Crime

Good morning all of participants of the english speech contest

Before I begin to give a speech. I would like to invite you to thank to Allah the almighty who has given us mercy and blessing. So we can meet together in this blessing place. And also, I don’t forget to deliver sholawat and salam to our prophet Muhammad SAW, who has brought us from the darkness to the brightness so we are always in the right way. Let me introduce myself, my name is Guntur Prakoso, I come from Migas Vocational School. In this opportunity, I would like to deliver my speech about the sophistication of technology result in the increase of crime. The definition of sophistication of technology is a condition which provides high quality technology, and high intelligence of technology. Technology is an improvement of human tools to solve a problem. And the definition of crime is an action which brings bad impact for other persons. In here i restrict the problem in nuclear.

Ladies and gentlemen

Nuclear is a huge energy comes from fusion or fission reaction of atom. It gives so many benefits to human just like as a source of electric energy, to heal cancer  and any source of huge energy. But, this sophisticated technology can make a world crime, if we make it as a hazard thing, the source of disaster. Do yo ever hear nuclear bomb ? well nuclear bomb is a bomb that uses fission or fusion reaction, so the explosion power of this bomb is very big. The finder of Nuclear bomb was Enrico Fermi that inspirated from Albert Einstein theorema.

Nuclear bomb appears when USA wanted to destroy Japan in the second world war. On August 6^th 1945, USA fell down the first nuclear bomb in Hiroshima and 140.000 people died as the victims  and on August 9^th 1945, USA fell down again the nuclear bomb in Nagasaki and 75.000 people became the victims.  So that USA was the winner of second world war. Do you know the impact of this bomb ? , not just killing people , destroying building but it can make a mutant genetic

According to Associated Press, USA mass media, on May 11^th 2012 reported that America had a plan to destroy Ka’bah in Mecca and Madina with nuclear bomb, in military matriculation for USA soldiers in Pentagon. It appears again after 67 years. Can you imagine ? the impact of nuclear bomb which improved for 67 years. The sophisticated technology results in the increase of world crimes wouldn’t it be more horrible and more powerful.

Beside that, according to the lecture of UNISBA, M. Dzikron AM, actually Tsunami of Aceh was not a pure natural disaster. He said that there were many strange things that happened such as :

1. NOAA, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, didn’t find the electromagnetic frequency in 0.5 or 12 hertz as an indication of an earth quake. And tsunami Aceh happened suddenly.

2. Most of Tsunami victims died and their skin became black same with the victims of nuclear bomb in Hiroshima Nagasaki.

3. There were nuclear waste from Hindia Ocean in Somalia after 2 months of Tsunami Aceh.

According to nuclear scientist from Australia, Joe Viallis, he said that Tsunami Aceh was happened because of an explosion of thermodinamic nuclear bomb in the sea. The bomb’s name was Warhead Thermonuclear W-53. It was the one kind of High Altitude Atmospheric Research Project that can manipulate the climate and make an earthquake or hurricane.

Actually, to avoid nuclear crimes, nuclear must be organized by the people that have good attitude, so nuclear will not become weapon of mass destruction. The sophisticated technology will not increase of crimes if we can use the technology to do many good things such as, we can use nuclear in medical treatment to heal cancer, in mining industry, we can use it to correct rock characteristics, beside that we can use it to make source of electric power, or we can use it to stop mosquitos cyclus and we can use it to destroy bacteries and virus in our foods.    

Well, as a student, we must improve our attitudes, so we can use the sophisticated technology only for good things, to increase human welfare. We are young generations of Indonesia. It’s time for us to stand up and make our beloved country better. Not forget to improve our character, attitude. Be a good people a wise one to organize the sophisticated technology.

The honorable juries representing, to all of the teacher here attending, and to all of the audiences, ladies and gentlemen, Good morning everyone !!

First of all, let us thank to GOD because of His blessing, we all can gather here on this event.

Secondly, I will introduce my name. My name is JANEKE WAROMI, I come from VOCATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL MIGAS CEPU. In this opportunity, I would like to tell you my speech about “ How important the Natioal Exam for You ? ”

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Exam has become a necessity in some education. If we study in school to the next grade, we have to pass series of exams. Whether it's exam routine, midterms, or final exams. With exam results was noted in the form of report cards. Certainly, student’s achievement can be monitored on a periodic basis.

We certainly can ask, that all the teaching learning process is conducted in a classroom, where there is intensive interaction in face-to-face between teachers and students, whether the execution should ultimately be determined finally through a national exam? Is not traveling for 3 years and 6 semesters it has also passed various test series? that student achievement can be seen clearly the extent of development and improvement. We can see, a student who was actually in the everyday participation in the learning process had a higher level of intelligence, perception for good, always got superior value and a good class ranking. When he faced the national exam, he did not pass. While students are learning everyday arguably the mediocre, values ​​tend to be less, and the perception is not good, but he passed the national exam. This is quite unfortunate.

Ladies and Gentlemen,

With the national exam and graduation requirements that are considered "high", making students, parents, and teachers "restless". Of anxiety can lead to two different sides. Where, on the one hand will give a positive value, students being encouraged to think critically in the right well and active, parents can also give care and attention to their children's education by way of consultation to schools about the learning difficulties of children and involving children to follow in some courses, a professional teacher can complete learning existing materials also developed models for guidelines exams.

On the other hand, concerns of various parties encourage dishonorable practices. In order to pass 100 percent of their students, not a teacher or the school share an answer key, cheating to each other, commit fraud or omissions. One example is the case of Mrs. Siami, the parents named of Alif Ahmad Maulana, Gadel II Elementary School, District Tandes, Surabaya. She reported cases of massal cheating in their children's school. However, ironically, Mrs. Siami, which would act honestly, it expelled the people who are worried about their children’s not pass the examination.

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Need further improvement in the level of educational affairs policy holders. Improving the quality of teachers, the availability of books supporting learners' learning, teaching methods, to observations of the atmosphere of mental and psychological students.

Format and the national examination system, is a good concept and ideal. National exam become one of the ways of the government in order to improve the quality of education in Indonesia with standardization that has applied, but there was determination in the direction needs to be coupled with an increase in the professionalism of all parties.

Ladies and Gentlemen,

From here we can conclude, that the national exam is important, but through good preparation, good attention, and cooperation with well executed by all parties ranging from students, teachers, parents, the government, even though the community is also very important. And the most important is how we can run it with everything honestly. Honesty is expensive, but what does it mean if we are always in dishonesty.

            Let’s prays thanksgiving to God Almighty, we say sholawat and salam to the Prophet Muhammad SAW.

            Good morning ladies and gentlemen.

            Let me introduce my self, my name is Adhil Rissallah, I come from Migas Vocational School. In this occasion, I would like to talk about “How Important The National Examination For You”. National Exam is the last step to continue their study to a higher school or college. In the world, there are countries which do not hold the National Exam, such as Finland, Canada and Germany. Why they do not hold the National Exam? In Canada there is no National Exam, but they can control the quality of education by an institution. In Germany, there is no National Exam but the government help each student to develop optimally. Because they think the National Exam is not important, the important to help every students develop optimally.

            Finland is as the country most successfully manage its national education number 1 in the world. In Finland, each student is given special autonomy to determine the schedule of exams for subjects they have mastered. National failure rate in Finland is never more than 2 percent per year. Finland didn’t do midterms and semester exams, it’s different in Indonesia. National evaluation study in Finland carried out without government intervention though. Because in every school, teacher even plenipotentiary to develop its own curriculum. It's incredible.

            National Exam in Indonesia has held since 1984/85, with different terms and different systems as well. This year the National Exam is held in 20 packets using the barcode, it is intended to minimize fraud and leakage. However, with an increasing complex system, it’s not followed by National Exam smoothness. For example : answer sheets are thin, and lack question paper. Many people complain about these problems. One of the students in Jakarta, said "answer sheet is very thin like tissue. When deleting we must be careful so the answer sheet is not rip, beside that after being removed, missing font a b c d". Many students face National Exam felt mediocre, but some students thought that the National Exam is a terrible monster. Not only few students who fainted when they received a question paper, even though they had not read it yet.

            Most students are afraid to face the National Exam. It makes the students to cheat, such as buying the answer keys, and believed to SMS broadcast. I read in okezone.com, that a high school student in Surabaya, East Java, doing National Exam by using the answer keys. He said "the answer keys was outstanding morning before the exam". I think it's highly unlikely, because the question using barcode, how to match it? But he said "the answer keys was synonymous with questions that I worked". It was absurd. Many students who are smart but they don’t pass it because of a pencil or technical errors. And many students who are stupid get high marks because they are lucky or cheat.

            So how is the government's attitude toward the National Exam in this year which is very messy? Is the National Exam removed or not? Many people want to the National Exam better removed, but the government will still held the National Exam. I think the National Exam is not important, because, in the countries which there are no National Exam, become the developed countries. While in Indonesia, every years Indonesia held the National Exam but the quality of education in Indonesia is not increase significant. I think the National Exam is not a benchmark but the draw even of fate. For the government, every years do not only increase the level of difficult questions but improve the quality of education in Indonesia in order to compete with the developed countries don’t use National Exam. National Exam is not important but the important thing is the expertise of each individual.

KENANG AKU DALAM MIMPI INDAHMU

        Waktu menunjukkan pukul sepuluh. Sudah lebih dari dua jam Aku berada di depan cermin kamarku. Memang, malam ini Aku ingin terlihat cantik di acara ulang tahunku yang ke tujuh belas. Sengaja Aku merayakannya tepat tengah malam di salah satu restauran yang terkenal di kotaku. Karena malam ini adalah malam tahun baru, banyak orang tua mengizinkan teman-temanku untuk pulang malam.

Gaun merah muda lengkap dengan sepasang high heels yang sudah kusiapkan berhari-hari terlihat sangat indah. Tapi entah mengapa Aku memiliki hasrat untuk memakai gaun hitamku yang sudah lumayan lama tidak kupakai. Mungkin memang Aku lebih cocok dan terlihat anggun ketika memakai warna hitam.

Tepat pukul sebelas malam. Segera Aku keluar dari kamar kos menuju kamar Wina sahabat karibku. Kuketuk pintu kamar Wina, dan Dia mengizinkanku untuk masuk. Tidak sesuai dengan perkiraanku, ternyata Wina belum bersiap dan masih memakai piyama berwarna ungu kesayangannya. “Win, kok belum dandan sih?” tanyaku dengan nada sedikit jengkel. “Aku lagi males keluar” jawab Wina. “Satu jam lagi ulang tahunku Win. Nggak mungkin kan kamu lupa?” sangkalku marah. Dengan santainya Wina hanya menjawab “Aku ingin istirahat”. “Kamu keterlaluan Win!” balasku. “Aku ingin istirahat” jawab Wina lagi. “Oke Win, jadi ini yang namanya sahabat? mulai sekarang terserah Kamu mau anggap Aku sahabat atau bukan. Nggak ada Kamu, acaraku juga bakal tetep jalan”. Tanpa basa-basi Aku berjalan keluar dari kamar Wina. Bbrraaaaaaaaakkkk!! . . . kututup pintu kamar Wina dengan kuat. Akhirnya Aku pergi ke restauran menggunakan motor maticku sendirian tanpa Wina. Tak habis pikir, sahabat dekatku tega seperti ini kepadaku. Wina melontarkan alasan yang sangat tidak masuk akal dan tanpa ada kata maaf sama sekali. Aku benar-benar kecewa, Wina yang selalu bersamaku dari Aku kecil tega melakukan ini kepadaku. Wina adalah satu-satunya orang yang Aku punya di sini. Kedua orang tuaku dan Wina pergi merantau ke pulau seberang semenjak Kami duduk di bangku SMP.

Sesampainya di restauran, sudah banyak temanku berada di sana. Aku mencoba duduk tenang dan berpikir Wina hanya ingin memberikan kejutan kepadaku. “Wina pasti datang” pikirku dalam hati. Setengah jam kulewati dengan berbincang bersama teman-temanku. Hingga akhirnya lima menit lagi pergantian tahun akan berlangsung. Begitu pula dengan usiaku akan tepat tujuh belas tahun. Aku bersiap di depan kue tart. Teman-temanku pun berkumpul mengelilingiku, tetapi tidak untuk Wina. Aku menoleh ke kiri dan kanan. Wina tidak terlihat juga. Rasa marah menyelimutiku dan Aku berpikir Wina bukan sahabatku lagi. Satu kalimat yang terucap di dalam hati “Aku kecewa Wina”.

Sepuluh detik dihitung mundur. Empat . . tiga . . dua . . . satu . . . dor . .dorr . .dooorrr . . . Bunyi aneka jenis kembang api yang memancarkan cahaya di awan lepas dengan sangat indah, terompet bersahut - sahutan di mana-mana, dan dentuman musik bergema pertanda tahun telah berganti. Semua orang menyambut tahun baru ini dengan penuh keceriaan. Begitu pula denganku. Kami semua tersenyum dan tertawa lepas. Seolah terlahir dalam kehidupan yang baru dan berharap di tahun 2013 ini akan lebih baik dari tahun sebelumnya. Segera kulakukan permohonan kepada Tuhan dan meniup lilin. Satu-persatu potongan kue kuberikan kepada teman-temanku. Tidak ada pemotongan kue special kali ini.

Aku tetap mencoba menikmati acaraku dengan melupakan sosok Wina. Makan bersama teman, berbincang kesana kemari, dan menikmati penampilan organ tunggal. Banyak teman-temanku menyumbangkan suaranya, membaca puisi, stand up komedi, dan masih banyak lagi.  Acara ulang tahunku ini sangat ramai dan meriah. Hingga tak terasa sudah menginjak pukul dua pagi. Aku bergegas kembali ke kos dengan membawa beberapa kado dari teman-temanku.

Sesampainya di kos, langsung saja Aku masuk dan beristirahat di kamar tanpa mengganti pakaian.

“Mbak bangun, sudah jam tujuh . . sarapan dulu” suara Mbok Yem seorang pembantu sekaligus penjaga kos. “Jam delapan nanti Aku keluar Mbok, Aku masih ngantuk banget” jawabku dengan nada sedikit tak jelas karna masih setengah tidur. “Ya sudah Mbak, saya mau membangunkan Mbak Wina dulu” jawab si Mbok sambil berlalu dari kamarku.

Tak berapa lama terdengar jeritan si Mbok “Astagfirullah Mbak Winaaaaaaaaaa . . tolooong !!!!!!”. Aku terkejut dan segera bangun, lalu berlari ke kamar Wina. “Ada apa Mbok?” tanyaku. “Mbak Wina . . . “, jawab si Mbok lemas. Wajah Wina tampak sangat pucat. Cepat-cepat Aku menghampiri Wina. Aku panggil-panggil nama Wina tapi tidak ada respon. Aku coba menepuk pipi Wina, Aku goyang-goyang badan Wina. Wina tetap tidak bangun. “Mbak Wina sudah pergi Mbak” kata si Mbok lirih. “Enggak mbok, enggak. Wina lagi capek Dia masih ingin tidur” sangkal ku sambil mencoba membangunkan Wina. “Ikhlaskan Mbak . . sudah” si Mbok memelukku dan menghentikan tanganku yang terus berusaha membangunkan Wina. “Enggak mbok, nggak mungkin . . . Wina masih di sini Mbok. Wina nggak boleh pergi  . . . enggak“ air mataku mengalir deras. Aku tetap berusaha membangunkan Wina. Tak henti kupanggil nama Wina. Aku tidak menyangka jika harus kehilangan orang yang sangat Aku sayang secepat ini tepat di hari bahagiaku.

          Kedua orang tuaku dan Wina datang untuk mengantarkan Wina kembali kepada Tuhan. Kami bertanya-tanya, masih belum ada yang tahu tentang penyebab kematian Wina. Hingga saat Aku masuk ke kamar Wina seusai pemakamannya, kutemukan sebuah surat beramplop merah muda bersama dengan sebuah origami burung di atasnya. Air mataku yang tak berhenti mengalir kini mengalir lebih deras lagi saat membaca surat dari Wina. Dengan penuh sesal Aku berkata “Maafkan aku Wina, kenanglah aku dalam tidur panjangmu . . .”.

Dan inilah kalimat-kalimat terakhir Wina . . . . .

Untuk sahabatku tercinta : Hilma

Selamat ulang tahun Hilma . . . maafkan Aku jika tidak bisa datang di acara ulang tahunmu.

Aku hanya ingin acara bahagiamu berjalan lancar, karena Aku harus pergi.

Maaf, Aku belum sempat bercerita tentang penyakit kanker otak yang sudah tiga tahun ini Aku lawan.

Hingga akhirnya, kini Aku merasa siap . . .
Sudah lama Aku tidak berani untuk memiliki sebuah mimpi. . . tapi Kamu yang selalu mengajakku bermimpi . . . terima kasih sahabat . . . tetaplah pada mimpimu, mimpi Kita . . . seperti sebuah burung yang dapat terbang tinggi . . .

Sampaikan ucapan terima kasihku kepada Ayah dan Bunda . . .. . . kenangan indah bersama ayah bunda selalu mengantarkan tidur Wina setiap malam . . . hingga terakhir Wina tertidur . . .  maafkan Wina . . . Wina belum bisa membuat Ayah Bunda tersenyum karna Wina . . . Wina sayang kalian . . .

Tahun baru kali ini, begitu berbeda. Aku merasa bahagia karena usiaku menginjak tujuh belas tahun dimana sekarang Aku sudah tumbuh sebagai seorang remaja. Tapi di sisi lain, Aku kehilangan sahabatku yang sangat Aku cintai. Untuk sekarang dan selamanya . . . .

Mulai saat ini, Aku akan berjalan dan terus berlari meraih mimpiku juga mimpi Wina. Seperti sebuah burung yang dapat terbang tinggi di angkasa raya, mengelilingi dunia, mengumpulkan para awan, dan membawa sebuah bintang . . . . Aku ingin membuat Wina tersenyum di surga . . .
